Terms of service
Last updated: 23 October 2026
These terms govern your use of the hosted SolidCraft Gallery instance (the “Service”), operated by the SolidCraft Gallery maintainers (“we”, “us”, “our”). By using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you may accept these terms for it.
A self-hosted copy of the software is operated by whoever runs it, under that operator’s own terms. This document applies only to this instance.
The service
SolidCraft Gallery is a public, git-backed gallery for SolidCraft designs. It lets people publish, browse, search, preview and download designs, and connect a git repository as the source of a project.
The Service is a free public beta, provided “as is” and “as available”. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it at any time, including features, limits and availability. We do not guarantee that content, accounts or data will be preserved for any particular period during the beta.
Accounts
Sign-in uses Forgejo OAuth. We never receive or store a password. You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent where you live, to create an account. If you are younger, you may use the Service only with verifiable parental consent where the law allows it.
Provide accurate information, keep your provider account secure, and tell us if you believe your account has been compromised. You are responsible for activity under your account. Accounts are personal unless we agree otherwise, and usernames are permanent in the current version of the Service.
We may refuse, suspend or close an account that violates these terms, creates a legal or security risk, or is used to abuse the Service or other people.
Your content
You keep ownership of the designs, text, images and other material you publish (“Your Content”).
Public projects must carry an SPDX license and include the corresponding license text. By publishing a public project, you license it to everyone under that license. Visitors may download, use, modify and redistribute it under those terms, including commercially where the license allows.
For all of Your Content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, render, index, display, distribute and back up Your Content as needed to operate, secure and improve the Service. This license ends when you delete Your Content, except for copies in backups, caches and search indexes, and copies that others have already downloaded under the license you chose.
You confirm that you own or have all rights and permissions needed to publish Your Content; that it is lawful and does not infringe intellectual property, privacy or other rights; that you have permission for any third-party models or material it contains; and that it contains no malware or harmful code.
Private and unlisted are access settings, not confidentiality guarantees. Private content is visible to you and to administrators who need it to operate the Service or respond to legal or security issues. Unlisted content is left out of listings and search engine indexing, but anyone with the link can view it. Public content is public, may be indexed by search engines, and may be downloaded and reused under its license.
We do not review all content before publication and are not responsible for content published by users.
Acceptable use
You must not:
- break any law or infringe intellectual property, privacy, publicity or other rights;
- publish content that is illegal, hateful, harassing, sexually exploitative, or that incites violence;
- upload malware or content designed to disrupt, damage or gain unauthorized access to systems;
- impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or organization;
- access accounts, data or systems you do not have permission to access;
- probe, scan or test the security of the Service without our written permission;
- bypass rate limits, the render sandbox or other technical protections;
- scrape or download at a rate that harms the Service or other users;
- send spam, run deceptive bots, or remove license notices from content you do not own.
Third-party services
Sign-in and hosted git use Forgejo. External projects may be hosted on GitHub or another provider. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies, and we do not control them. Links to third-party sites do not imply endorsement. External repositories are read-only to the Service: you push to them, and the Service indexes what you publish.
Copyright and takedowns
We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe content on the Service infringes your rights, contact us with the project URL, a description of the work you own, your contact details, and a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is unauthorized and that the information in your notice is accurate. If you are acting for a rights holder, say so and explain your authority.
We may remove or disable access to content, notify the uploader, and suspend accounts that repeatedly infringe. We may also remove content that is unlawful or violates these terms without prior notice. Counter-notices can be sent through the same channel; we may restore content where that is appropriate. Do not use this process to make knowingly false claims.
Privacy
Our privacy policy explains what data the Service stores, why, and for how long. It is part of these terms.
Availability and changes
We may modify features and limits, perform maintenance, or take the Service offline. We do not guarantee uptime, availability or freedom from errors, and we are not responsible for losses caused by unavailability. Keep your own copies of your designs and repositories: git is the source of truth, and you should not rely on the Service as your only storage.
Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and may request deletion of your account. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect users, the Service or third parties. When your access ends, your right to use the Service ends. Public licenses you granted to others survive, and provisions that by their nature should survive termination will do so.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.
Designs are submitted by users. Previews, measurements, materials and metadata may be wrong or incomplete. Always verify a design before manufacturing it, and do not rely on the Service for safety-critical parts or for any use where a failure could cause injury, death or property damage.
Nothing in these terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot be excluded by law, including mandatory consumer rights.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, goodwill or business opportunity, arising out of or relating to the Service, even if we were advised of the possibility.
Our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) EUR 100 and (b) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. The Service is currently free, so (b) is likely zero.
Nothing limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law.
Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the maintainers from claims, damages, liabilities, costs and reasonable legal fees arising from Your Content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these terms. We will notify you of a covered claim and may participate in the defense. You may not settle a claim in a way that admits our fault without our consent.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator of this instance is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts there have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory law gives you the right to sue in your local courts. If you are a consumer, this does not affect mandatory protections under your local law.
Before filing a claim, contact us and give us a reasonable opportunity to resolve the issue informally.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the date above and, for material changes, post a notice on the Service. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated terms. If you do not agree, stop using the Service and request deletion of your account.
